Technology

This version of the site is written in Rust with Leptos, a framework that compiles to WebAssembly. Every page is rendered ahead of time into plain HTML, so it shows up fast and still reads fine with JavaScript turned off. Once the WebAssembly arrives, it takes over the page and moves between routes without a full reload.

The pages are served straight from Cloudflare’s network. Only a handful of paths, like the message wall and signing in, run any code at all, in a small Worker that talks to Supabase. Everything else is a static file, which keeps the site quick and costs nothing to serve.

There’s no styling framework this time either. It’s one hand-written stylesheet, self-hosted fonts, and not a single npm package anywhere in the project.

Design

The design is minimalistic and modern, with a focus on readability and user experience.

I used a really dark theme to reduce eye strain and create a sleek aesthetic. The typography is carefully chosen for clarity and style, and the layout is designed to guide the user’s attention through the content seamlessly.

The header softly blurs whatever scrolls underneath it, and the card on the home page plays a short film I rendered with a little Rust tool of its own. Motion stays gentle, and it calms right down if your system asks for reduced motion. The artwork on the home page is by @doukutunezumi.

Philosophy

The website is built with the idea of being a personal digital space that reflects my interests and projects. It’s a place where I can share my thoughts and showcase my work!

I wanted to create a site that is not only functional but also enjoyable to visit! with a focus on content and user experience. By that I just mean have fun overall.
